Jennifer Moline is Senior Vice President, Finance & Accounting for Terremark Worldwide, Inc. based in downtown Miami. Her responsibilities are External SEC Reporting, Global Consolidations, Accounting, Internal Compliance (SOX), Shared Services (AR, AP, and Payroll), Global Financial Systems, Treasury, Tax and Internal Audit. Jennifer has spent the past 15 years in senior finance leadership positions at large public companies in both corporate and divisional roles. Moline’s career has been distinguished by the ability to identify and understand areas of opportunity, create and successfully implement process improvement, develop and coach teams and consistently build and execute valued added projects/transformations. The impact has helped guide organizations through strategic and financial challenges.
Moline was most recently Senior Vice President, Finance & Controller for Office Depot, Inc., a leading global provider of office products and services with annual revenue of $15 billion, operations in more than 40 countries and 42,000 employees. The company is multi-channel with 1,700 retail stores, B-to-B through call centers, catalogs and a dedicated sales force and has International and E-commerce sales of $4B and $5B, respectively. For Office Depot, Moline successfully led most Finance functions through a challenging period, whereby the company’s infrastructure needed to be rebuilt to support its rapid growth as a Fortune 200 company, from its business launch just two decades earlier. Moline’s focus was to bring process and leadership and a more disciplined approach to the Finance functions. A major achievement was integrating Finance needs with global technology solutions, and this shift in approach became the model for other functional business areas. Additionally, she strengthened internal controls, improved cash flow and reduced the cost of finance by creating a Global Delegation of Authority, reducing DSO by four days, lowering compliance costs and outsourcing.
The foundation of Moline’s career is accounting and business improvement with Ernst & Young, a Big Four firm, where for over five years in both New Zealand and London, she held rapidly progressive positions in the financial improvement of insolvent businesses. Among her leadership achievements was the successful turnaround of a privately held retail chain. Moline continued her London experience with The Rank Organization PLC, a public leisure, film, television and optics conglomerate, where as Executive Financial Analyst, she made recommendations on potential acquisitions. Returning to New Zealand, she joined McConnell Dowell Corporation, a public engineering, construction and property services company as Corporate Analyst, where she established a function to assess investments and acquisitions. Moline spent the next 11 years at Tupperware Brands Corp., a $2B+ manufacturer and marketer of consumer products through an independent sales force of over one million with operations in 100+ countries. She was promoted several times, including her permanent move to the US almost 20 years ago, ultimately serving as VP & Treasurer for Tupperware. Following a finance restructuring, Moline joined ANC Rental Corp., a $3B+ car rental company, including Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental. She was rapidly promoted, serving in VP leadership roles for both Planning & Analysis and Accounting Services.
Moline then joined DHL Express, part of Deutsche Post World Net, which has revenue of $90B+ and is the world’s second largest employer with 500,000 employees in more than 220 countries. The US division had revenue of $4B+ and was a leading provider in express delivery. Her contributions were integral to the company’s strategic evolution, specifically the integration of the acquired $1B business of Airborne. Moline was instrumental in the successful reinvention of DHL as she collaborated with all business leaders to develop, document and account under IAS for all integration plans. She was also a key contributor to the successful, on time SAP system implementation, which enabled the integration of financial processes, systems and people.
Moline is a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent in US) with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting, from Auckland University in New Zealand. In her free time she enjoys boating, fishing and traveling with her family and friends.
