Mission Statement

Women Executive Leadership, Inc. (WEL) advocates, educates and connects accomplished women. WEL is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards and in the executive suite by recognizing and connecting accomplished women and further expanding their influence within their respective business communities. WEL’s membership is reflective of executive women across diverse businesses in Florida and its reach is countrywide through its membership with InterOrganization (ION).

• WEL Advocates - through WEL’s Census studies, its Corporate Salute Event and ION’s outreach initiatives.


• WEL Educates - through programs, workshops and events focused on C-Level executives, executives of top two tiers of management, and directors of corporate boards, addressing the challenges and issues they face as well as the board selection process.


• WEL Connects - through its alliances with search firms, its collaboration with executives involved in the board selection process, and its affiliation with ION; communicates search requests it receives from various resources; all of which raises the visibility of Florida executives to board searches around the country, and enables Florida companies to access a larger talent pool nationwide. WEL provides a forum for executive women to unite, network and leverage best practices.

With the increased demands facing the traditional pool of board candidates and the higher expectations of board members, companies are expanding their search parameters to include more diverse board talent. WEL can influence the search process by serving as a catalyst to introduce qualified women to these decision makers.
