Denise Dickins is an Assistant Professor at East Carolina University, where she teaches Auditing and Internal Auditing classes. She received her Ph.D. in 2006 from Florida Atlantic University, and her B.S. in Accounting and Finance in 1983 from Florida State University. Prior to 2002, Denise was with Arthur Andersen for 19 years where she served the last three years as Partner-in-Charge of the South Florida Audit Division.

Denise is also a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Watsco Incorporated (WSO) and TradeStation (TRAD). Her published work and research agenda include topics in auditor independence, public disclosures, and Audit Committee effectiveness. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the FICPA’s FSU Accounting Conference Committee.
